A project carried out by the Montréal Canadiens, LNDMRK and Lumenpulse.
Powered by the Chamber with financial support from the Government of Québec.
This urban mural on brick aims to permanently commemorate the history of hockey in Montréal, highlighting the importance of this sport in our culture. The massive mural will be technologically enhanced by light installations and special lighting effects.
Created by local street artist Marc Sirus, the mural includes a nod to the Canadien’s original logo and founding year of 1909, an image of the iconic frontage of the Montréal Forum, a celebratory pose of revered former captain Saku Koivu, and likenesses of three generations of legendary goaltenders in club history: Ken Dryden, Patrick Roy and Carey Price. Additional elements capture the energy of the sport that is synonymous with Montréal and the fans who support the Canadiens with a passion unparallelled in the game.
Stay tuned for the unveiling of the second phase of this work, which will consist of an extensive light installation outside the Bell Centre. Revealed in the coming months, this addition will transform the mural experience with lights and special lighting effects that will change with the seasons and on certain occasions.
